With a huge number of people passing through the event, it was a great opportunity to raise awareness about NACC NRM’s work and the countless natural assets of the Northern Agricultural Region. Over the afternoon, many meaningful conversations were shared with community members keen to learn more about local biodiversity and conservation.

One of the standout successes was engaging younger visitors. Activities like ‘Catch the Carnaby’ and ‘Deck the Quolls’ proved hugely popular with kids, sparking curiosity about two of our iconic species, Quolls and Carnaby’s Cockatoos. These hands-on activities also created opportunities to chat with parents and carers about NACC’s efforts, leading to some great questions and valuable discussion!
A big thank you to BirdLife Australia, particularly Heather and Alice, who ran a fantastic stall and partnered seamlessly with NACC NRM on the night! Overall, Christmas on the Terrace was a fabulous (and festive) opportunity to learn, adapt and continue strengthening our connection with the broader community.
