Over the school holidays, local children got the chance to find out firsthand when Murchison House Station hosted a nestbox building workshop in Kalbarri. The workshop was led by Re-Cyc-Ology founder and ornithologist Dr Simon Cherriman for a hands-on workshop which brought together young nature enthusiasts from Youth Spaces Kalbarri for a fun and educational day focused on supporting native wildlife.

The cowslip orchid is a vibrant terrestrial orchid endemic to the south-west of Western Australia. Known for its stunning golden yellow flowers that often feature bright red or magenta flecks, this orchid thrives in sandy, lateritic, and granitic soils from Geraldton in the Midwest region down to Israelite Bay on WA’s southern coast.
