Thanks Pip!

NACC’s Jurien Bay-based Coastal and Marine Project Officer, Philippa Schmucker, is on the move and we are sad to see her go!

Pip started at NACC in 2013 as a Natural Resource Management Officer based in Jurien Bay.

pip-1Her increasing role in supporting the Coastal and Marine Program led to her transfer to Project Officer within this program in Aug 2015. Pip took maternity leave in Jan 2016 and has decided to return to South Australia with her partner Lindsay, to start a new chapter of their lives with their beautiful daughter, Mallaya.

During her time at NACC Pip was involved in numerous projects, most of them part of the Coastal and Marine Program.

Pip’s passion for community engagement was always at the forefront of all her work and she was instrumental in establishing the beach photo-monitoring program for the NAR coastal communities south of Leeman.

In addition Pip oversaw Pyp Grass control programs in Jurien Bay and Cervantes and assisted numerous community-led projects including beach clean ups, dune restoration days, shorebird monitoring field trips and meetings to develop interpretative signage.

Pip always made sure the voice of coastal communities was heard.

All the NACC staff would like to wish Pip, Lindsay and Mallaya a future full of health, happiness and taking care of our precious environment.
