Community members are reminded that there’s still time to apply for a subsidy to attend this year’s WA Threatened Species Forum which will be held in Geraldton on 7-8 September 2017.
NACC is offering ten community members in the region a subsidy to cover the registration cost of the much anticipated and high profile state-wide conference.
Participants – including our 10 subsidised community members – will get a chance to hear more about the plight of WA’s threatened species, the priorities of current national, state and regional threatened species strategies; and interventions being undertaken to save the state’s most threatened flora and fauna. They will also have an opportunity to share their own information and learnings for protecting and recovering Western Australia’s threatened plants and animals.

Community members who have made contributions towards protecting and enhancing biodiversity, or promoting and implementing sustainable agriculture, Aboriginal land management and protection of cultural heritage are encouraged to apply. This contribution may be as a volunteer, as part of a community group, or as an individual in your community.
NRM practitioners who are working in community organisations within the region and who would otherwise find it difficult to attend the forum are also encouraged to apply for the subsidy.
The subsidy will cover the event registration – which includes entry to all sessions; a program and satchel; the morning tea, afternoon tea, lunch and welcome sundowner; and the special screening of the film “Secrets at Sunrise”. All other costs beyond the $110 registration subsidy will be the responsibility of the individual attending.
The closing date for EOI submission is 5pm Thursday 31 August 2017.
