Geraldton’s Big Beach Clean-up

It’s on again! Geraldton’s Big Beach Clean-up
Picture this: The sun is shining, the water is clear and blue and waves are rolling in. The sand is warm under your feet. Suddenly, you notice a few bits of plastic and a water bottle floating past. You spot some old rope washed-up on the high tide mark. Sound familiar?

But don’t let marine debris spoil your day at the beach.

Join the NACC crew next month when we host the fourth annual Geraldton Big Beach Clean-up on Sunday 8 October. We kick-off the day by gathering on the foreshore to say hello, before ‘arming’ everyone with their rubbish collection gear. Then it’s off to the beaches.

Let's keep our beaches free from rubbish.
Let’s keep our beaches free from rubbish.

Volunteers can head to their favourite beach, or pick a new location, and get stuck into a thorough clean-up.

Once their strip of the beach has been cleared of rubbish and debris, participants can head back to the foreshore where volunteers will help weigh, sort and record the rubbish.

Come on down and join in the fun!

This important information will hopefully help NACC and partners to stop the rubbish at its source.

After all the hard work Big Beach Clean-up participants will be invited to kick back and enjoy a number of fun activities we’ve got organised, including competitions, entertainment, information displays and of course, a free sausage sizzle.

With strong support from the fantastic local organisations who are committed to a healthier environment, this year’s Big Beach Clean-up is tipped to be the best yet!

Tired of the pollution? Come and be part of the community solution!
