#PeopleOfNRM – Miriam Stanborough

The NACC NRM Board, as elected by NACC NRM’s membership is responsible for setting the strategic direction of NACC NRM and as such, supports the staff of NACC NRM to deliver our purpose.

Over the next few months #PeopleOfNRM in NACC Notes will showcase NACC NRM’s Directors, starting this month with Miriam Stanborough.

My vision for NACC NRM is that we continue to strengthen our reputation for strong relationships with NRM stakeholders in the NAR, be recognised for our professionalism in effectively and economically catalysing community conservation, and respected by government as a trusted provider of NRM services.

As a current Director of NACC I was delighted to be re-elected to the board during the 2019 AGM.  I am a chemical engineer with additional qualifications in Arts and Mineral Economics, and I bring general management skills from 18 years working in the resources and construction industry in technical, operational and management roles.

My family operates a small beef cattle farm which allows me to pursue my interests in regenerative agriculture, animal welfare and agricultural technology.  It also allows our three children to grow up closely connected to nature, and respectful of the effort that goes into the food and fibre we consume.

It is my aim to support NACC NRM’s operational team to continue to catalyse community conservation, with a focus on effective and economically responsible project delivery for the benefit of the whole Northern Agricultural Region.
