It has been a few years since NACC NRM has been able to provide the Coastcare community with much needed cash resources to complete local projects. So it is with great pride that we now announce Round 11 of this popular grant program.
Round 11 hey, how good is that? In this day and age where trends come and go like reality TV shows, it is refreshing to come across something that has lasted the test of time – for the most part. Some fantastic projects have been funded via it Program over the years; check out some old articles celebrating completed rounds here, here and here.
Funding from the WA NRM Program has helped get this program up and running once more. NACC NRM’s Coastcare Support Officer Dr. Mic Payne said he gets a real kick out of being able to help Coastcare volunteers who work so hard to improve land that is not even theirs.
“I have had the privilege of being involved in these grants since 2012 and it really is one of the highlights of this job”, said Dr. Payne.
Coastcare regular Alice Bishop from Birdlife Midwest said she and her team have had no trouble brainstorming, already forming a few ideas for this round of grants!
“There is never a shortage of coast care projects required, the trick is to find the resources and the time to get them all done,” said Alice.
This years’ kitty is $30,000, with applications now invited for projects up to $5,000, with a deadline of 15th April 2022. You can access the application form here, and if you have any questions about the program please do not hesitate to get in touch.
