NACC NRM is excited to announce a new role in the NACC team which will provide support to coastal community groups across the Northern Agricultural Region. The new Coastcare Support Officer role is currently vacant with recruitment underway.
The Coastcare Support Officer role will be based in the region and be required to travel to coastal communities all over the Northern Agricultural Region to engage with and support community groups, schools and relevant local government authorities.
NACC NRM CEO, Katherine Allen said “We are looking for a Coastcare professional who is passionate about conserving our pristine coastline though education and community engagement.”
Some of the main responsibilities of this position include coordinating public events and school visits to educate young people on coastal processes, writing grant applications, contributing to community events, and producing media content relevant to NACC NRM’s coastal engagement and education goals for the region.
NACC NRM Chair, Rob Keogh says the board has recognised the position as a priority in supporting the future of the NAR coastline which runs from Kalbarri to Guilderton.
“The NACC NRM Board and I are very excited to be able to re-invest in the region through this role which will assist in engaging our community through worthwhile coastal projects.”
Candidates should have a passion for natural resource management as well as knowledge of and experience in Coastal and/or Marine management.
