Community groups in the Northern Agricultural Region (NAR) now have access to a wave of new resources via the Northern Agricultural Catchments Council’s Coastcare Resources page on the NARvis website.
The Coastcare Resources page was recently added to the website in response to feedback regarding the needs of local community groups and it is intended to be a valuable one stop location that provides support for best practice planning and delivery of on-ground environmental projects.
Coastal and Marine Project Officer, Vanessa McGuiness, believes the materials that are found on the webpage will help streamline these activities.
“Coastcare and other community groups are run by volunteers whose time is both valuable and limited,” Vanessa said.
“Having these templates and locally relevant information available in one convenient location will make it easier and quicker than ever before for community groups to take a strategic approach to caring for their local environment.”
The Coastcare resources page contains a library of information on everything from:
- How to run a beach clean-up
- Planning and implementing revegetation projects – including this awesome video guide:
- Seed collection and propagation
- Weed control
- Coastal adaptation policies and guidelines
- Local and regional coastal management plans, and more!
Make sure you check out these great new offerings on NARvis before you plan your next event.
