Join the Coastcare united front

Coastcare groups across the NACC NRM region will soon undergo an important mission. Seeds have been sown, plants propagated and we now are ready to get out there and restore biodiversity and integrity to our greatest weapon against climate change and sea level rise- our coastal dunes.

Armed with shovels, tree guards and stakes, these coastal crusaders will plant over 5000 coastal native plants over the next month. Will you join this band of dedicated warriors and help make a difference?

Get involved in one of these great events:

Sunday, 4 June – Ledge Point Coastcare

Saturday, 10 June – Seabird Progress Association

Sunday, 11 June – Guilderton Community Planting Day hosted by Moore Catchment Council

Sunday, 17 June – Ledge Point Coastcare

Coastcarers will also be equipped with best practice intelligence thanks to NACC’s new coastal revegetation video. Titled “Getting it right: Planning the perfect coastal planting day” , the video is a guide for groups undertaking community planting events which is jam packed full of hot tips and tricks to help make the experience successful and enjoyable.

Coastal and Marine Project Manager Hamish Longbottom said: “The video is a product of the great work coastal communities have done in our region. We have gathered the best information available and listened to feedback from Coastcarers to create this resource for planning their future revegetation efforts”.

“We look forward to seeing successful community planting events this winter and welcome any new recruits who are keen to see what the fuss is all about”.
