NACC’s Supporting Smarter Farms Project is now up and running and we want to hear from you.
NACC is calling for bids from farmers, grower groups and Traditional Owners to conduct on-ground works that will contribute to the improvement of soil acidity, wind erosion, soil organic carbon levels and on-farm biodiversity.
Successful project works will allow farmers and the wider community to extend their land management practices to further benefit and improve the health of agricultural land in the Northern Agricultural Region.
NACC’s Sustainable Agriculture Program Coordinator Callum Love said that project activities must demonstrate an improvement in the objectives outlined in the guidelines however the activities that achieve this will be left up to the imagination of the applicants, keeping in mind that it is integral for the continued success of sustainable agriculture that projects are promoted and extended as widely as possible.
“I’m sure that – given some of the great discussions I have had with the local farming community so far – I will be looking at an innovative and exciting range of applications.”
Expressions of interest close on 26 April 2019 and the guidelines and application form are available here.
