International Women’s Day 2024

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the NACC NRM team, armed with their morning coffees, came together for a discussion about inclusion with Nancy Kirby of Ngala Midwest & Gascoyne.

Falling on Friday 8 March, International Women’s Day is an opportunity to discuss how we can each contribute to an inclusive society, free of bias and discrimination. The United Nations theme this year was ‘Invest in women: Accelerate progress’, and similarly, the theme set by International Women’s Day was ‘Inspire Inclusion’. These themes are a reminder of how far society has come in supporting inclusion, and the challenges that still lie ahead.

Our guest for the morning, Nancy, spoke about her personal and professional journey toward building a safe and strong future. Working in community services, Nancy believes in the importance of finding a career path that is fulfilling and aligns with your personal values.
For Nancy, that means making a difference in communities; supporting those who are vulnerable or struggling, and listening to and advocating for women and youth.

The discussion was a great way to start the day, and was the catalyst for many more conversations among the team. Thank you Nancy for joining us, sharing about what inclusion means to you, and encouraging important change.
