Strategic Alliances and Partnerships Forum
July 9, 2015 @ 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
The Geraldton Regional Community Education Centre (GRCEC) was successful in gaining funding through Royalties for Regions, Community Chest funding to deliver a regional project to support non-government organisations.
It is increasingly evident that to be sustainable non-government organisations (NGOs) need to adopt innovative approaches to service delivery, including forming strategic alliances and diversifying income streams. This project will assist NGOs in the Mid West to consider their infrastructure and the services that they currently deliver and what might be done at a strategic level to ensure their ongoing ability to improve the quality of life for people in the region. In particular the project will focus on small to medium NGOs that solely or predominantly deliver services in this region.
GRCEC will work with peak body, WA Council of Social Service (WACOSS) to assist NGOs to consider different sustainable models of delivery. This will be achieved by:
- Facilitating a forum in Geraldton entitled Strategic Alliances and Partnerships, including broadcasting workshop via Westlink
- Developing a resource that will provide a guide to different structures and models with case studies, outlining risk, challenges and critical steps involved
- WACOSS promoting and encouraging access to the DropIN online platform
- Encouraging and supporting NGOs to provide input into a potential higher level Mid West Community Services Development Strategy, under the Mid West Regional Blueprint.
Who should attend?
