Isaac Hatch presented on behalf of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, discussing the recent Abrolhos Islands Management Plans. Isaac presented current and future works; managing growing tourism and protecting the natural environment and historical sites.

NACC NRM’s Coastcare Support Officer Alanah Campbell discussed coastal wetlands; highlighting their value and threats in the Northern Agricultural Region. Proposed projects for upcoming federal funding rounds were presented for public consultation and feedback.

Birdlife Midwest and other local community groups such as Chapman River Friend (CRF) and Greenough River Friends (GRF) have a strong focus on community capacity-building efforts, such as this event. Keep your eye on their Facebook pages/groups for regular updates and future educational events!

This event was supported by funding from the State NRM Program – Community Stewardship Grants.
