The Chapman River needs your help

Pull on your gloves and slap on your hat – NACC and Chapman River Friends are hosting a Clean-Up Day at Chapman River and the Friends of Chapman River and NACC need your help.

Next Sunday, CRFriends and NACC are inviting community members to participate in Clean-Up Australia Day 2018 and help tidy-up one of the most beautiful natural assets in our region – the Chapman River Wildlife Corridor.

In the past, volunteers have picked-up rubbish along the river, both among the trees, and in and under the water. Items collected included bikes, scooters, prams, soft drink cans, fast food wrappers, fishing gear, and clothing.

Here’s the details for your diary:

DATE:      Sunday, 4 March

TIME:       8.00 – 10.00am (including a free morning tea)

PLACE:    Spalding Park Carpark

Please wear sun-smart clothing, enclosed shoes, and gloves; and remember to bring your water. If you have a kayak or a stand up paddle board – please bring them along too, and jump out on the water. Fear not if you don’t have your own, as NACC will also be bringing along its estuary monitoring kayaks for volunteers to use.

For more information, please contact Jessica Stingemore on jessica.stingemore@nacc.com.au or 9938 0106.

This event is proudly supported by NACC, Friends of Chapman River, City of Greater Geraldton, Toxfree, Woolworths: Seacrest, and the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
