They say bees are nature’s most economical builders, however, last week it was NACC which was buzzing after news came through that we have been selected as a finalist at this year’s Mid West Business Excellence Awards.
Recognising inspirational achievements of exceptional Mid West businesses and individuals for the past 21 years, the 2016 Awards will be presented in Geraldton on Saturday, 25 June.
The Awards showcase business excellence in the Mid West under a range of categories – including the ‘Not for Profit’ category, for which NACC has been named a finalist.
NACC CEO Richard McLellan said being chosen as a finalist was an accolade, and a great reflection on the professionalism, leadership and passion of the entire NACC team.
“Our nomination was built on our dedication to increase environmental awareness and action among people living in the Mid West, and to build capacity for land and sea stewardship within communities in our region,” he said.
“Our selection as a finalist is a real credit to the team and their commitment to community engagement and on-ground activity, but it also reflects the importance that NACC places on continual improvement and achieving excellence in everything we do.”
Regular NACC Notes readers might recall reading a quote in one of Richard’s recent blog posts when he said: “Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until you’re good is better. And your better, best”… a quest that Richard has instilled at NACC.
“We’re very cognisant that we won’t achieve our “better” or “best” just by sitting back and waiting for it to miraculously appear around us,” he said. “We have to proactively work on all of the aspects that contribute to building a stronger organisation, and persevere at it.”
And, although “good” is good, we’re committed to making it “better”. … “And our better, best”.
