NACC’s national award-winning Coastal and Marine team have another reason to celebrate.
Hot on the heels of winning the Australian Coastal Council’s Association’s Community Engagement Award comes the news that the team has been named as a finalist in the Coastcare Awards section in this year’s WA State Landcare Awards.
Coastal and Marine Program Coordinator Dr Mic Payne said it was a great honour for the team to be recognised twice in one year for the way in which they go about supporting local community volunteers who care for the region’s coasts.
The winner of the award will be announced during a formal dinner at the State NRM and Coastal Conference in Perth on 30 August. Collectively, the team – comprising Mic Payne, Vanessa McGuiness, Hamish Longbottom and Tegan Clarke – have all of their fingers (and toes) crossed.
Wish them luck.
