Championing farmers across the Northern Agricultural Region

There are many farmers doing great works across our region, and one in particular, Stuart McAlpine, is setting a high standard.

Stuart, who farms near Buntine, is doing some amazing work on his property to ensure a long-term farming future for his family and the local community.

Stuart actively engages in improving his farm’s soil health and sharing his knowledge and experiences with other farmers in his area.

Since 2007, he has been transitioning from conventional farming methods to a more biological approach.

In his own words, he says he has had “amazing results”.

Looking forward, Stuart is continuing to explore how to maximise the benefits of biological activity in his soil and diversify his farm business.

Stuart’s leading edge farming practices earnt him selection as the Northern Agricultural Region’s 2015 Soil Health Champion and will see him present at the Productive Farming Future Forum on 10 February 2016.
