Uncover Hidden Treasures at Bushland Field Day

heathlandsHow much do you know of your local patches of bushland? Are you up to date with all the management techniques to preserve and enhance the health of your bushland? These are two questions NACC staff and prominent guest speakers will be answering during the Hidden Treasures Bushland Field Day being held in the Badgingarra and Eneabba areas on Thursday 25 September 2014.

The day will focus on the short and long term benefits of protecting remnant vegetation for landholders. Rodger Walker, NACC Natural Resource Management Officer said, “We have a great line-up of guest speakers keen to share their knowledge and insight on the on the local flora, fauna, geology, bushland management issues and the unique landscape of the Northern Agricultural Region, in particular the kwongan heathlands.”

HeathNACC Natural Resource Management Officer Philippa Schmucker reports “Importantly, the field day will provide landholders with a chance to find out more on the NACC Hidden Treasures Program and the funding opportunities available.

Landholders and the wider public will find this day valuable irrespective of their level of knowledge of the local area, and the walk and talk format of the day will suit those keen to explore and learn”. The event starts at 10am at Don and Joy Williams Hi-Vallee Farm (5km east along Tootbardi Road turnoff, 33km north of Badgingarra on Brand Hwy) finishing at 3pm.

Bring your walking shoes and outdoor wear. Morning tea and lunch is included. Attendees will be able to carpool on site.
