NRM is in trouble in regional WA. At the end of the Changing Environments Conference, conference convenor Jackie Gill urged the assembled group to unite for action. To the Barricades for NRM "This conference has been about inspiration and innovation. It's come at a time of great change; a time of confusion and frustration. We're all tired, we're all wondering if it's worth it... However out of adversity grows strength. Let's use this difficult time to reflect, to regroup, to throw away our entrenched ideas. NRM is fighting for survival - but this room represents its future. A group of people who already know how to do battle. I have heard it in many conversations over the last four days...and it's clear that the forces are gathering. And let them gather....and build and gain strength; strength to move forward as a united, combined, passionate voice, bringing together the hundreds of groups, the thousands of people..to work towards a healthier world. This is my challenge to you. Stand together, work together, laugh together. To the barricades friends, and act."
