Changing Environments: New Challenges for the Living Country
Four days of entertainment, information and energy.
Tuesday 27 - Friday 30 October, Geraldton, WA
TUESDAY OCTOBER 27
10am – 2pm
Climate Change Seminar and Workshop
Climate Change: A Community Challenge
Auditorium, Queens Park Theatre
Free event, open to all
Climate Change is one of the most important things we’ll all have to deal with in the future. Whether you believe it’s caused by humans or not, the climate is changing – all the science is clear about that. So despite what’s causing it, what are we going to do about it?
Dr Mark Howden, one of Australia’s top experts in climate change (and a great speaker) will lead a panel of speakers to outline what climate is, what it might mean to WA and what we can do about it.
After lunch, Professor Stuart Hill will run an interactive workshop segment to help us to work out where we go from here.
We know that lots of people don’t know much about climate change and what it might mean – so here’s your chance.
6pm – 8.30pm
Sundowner Changing Environments Welcome Event
WA Museum, Geraldton on the boardwalk at the Geraldton Marina
Delegates only
Delegates can register at the Welcome Event and then turn their attention to catching up with friends, being wowed by the beauty of the Geraldton Marina and the fascination of the exhibits in the Museum. Staff of the Museum will be on hand to lead a special tour of the Batavia and shipwrecks exhibits during the evening.
Refreshments including finger food and drinks will help delegates recover from travelling, before a surprise finale which should have everyone thinking about the theme of the conference “Changing Environments”.
