The ‘Farm Business Resilience Program’, which is being organised by the West Midlands Group, will provide knowledge and tools for primary producers to prosper into the future. It is free to farmers in the West Midlands and Moore area and is worth around $5000.
According to WMG Project Officer Penny Keenan, the program offers a huge opportunity for farmers and land managers to put their planning into practice.
“During the course we will look at all aspects of a farming business including challenges and opportunities, financial health and production, natural re-source planning, preparing a quality of life plan for you and your family and preparing a strategic plan to take you and your farm enterprise into the next decade” she said.
She stressed that the program was not about recreating plans but building on existing plans and ideas.
The program is designed to give farmers more freedom within their business by running their businesses better,” she said. “We’ll ask farmers if their business could benefit from having a plan to be able to better manage the future, and if they’d like to be able to go on holidays and not worry about what they’re not doing while they’re away?
“Among other things, aiming at resilience will put farmers in a better position to access grants that will help you develop skills, farm infrastructure and to better manage natural resources,” Ms Keenan said.
The program will begin on April 19th at the Moora Tennis Club at 11 AM to 5PM (lunch included)
Farm Businesses can undertake this program for FREE (valued at $5,000 per participant)
There are limited places available, so for more information and registration contact Penny Keenan, WMG’s Project Officer on 9651 4008 or mobile 0427 998 001.
